Blog Post #11

Happy Friday! Since the last post, we have continued to clean and clear debris from the site. As of today, there has been a total of 43 rail cars loaded with construction debris equating to approximately 8,600,000 pounds. This is equivalent to 195 tractor trailer truck loads. The contractor has removed approximately 70% of building 526 which was formerly known as Abrasives 8 and Abrasives 7. As materials are cleared from the area, we will be focusing our attention on Plant 6 along C Street.

Fun fact for all, did you know that the Norton emblem on Plant 6 is actually 3 pieces making up the circle? We have successfully removed the emblem to be placed in the historic replication area that will be constructed at a later date in the project.

Please continue to watch for additional photos in the upcoming weeks. Enjoy this video showing a time lapse of progress from 3/11 - 3/29.
