The Reactory
The Reactory is a 44-acre master planned biomanufacturing campus dedicated to meet the growing demand for personalized medicine and the development of rare disease treatment. Under the Commonwealth’s “Open for Business” initiative, this portion of the former Worcester State Hospital complex was identified as a development opportunity, putting an underutilized state asset back into productive use. The WBDC is working with the City of Worcester to upgrade roadway and surrounding infrastructure to assist in creating pad-ready development sites to be developed for biomanufacturing.
As part of The Reactory’s sucess, the WBDC has been able to successfully secure its first two developments – WuXi Biologics is seeking to construct a 107,000 SF clinical and commercial manufacturing facility; and life sciences developer, Galaxy Life Sciences, is seeking to construct a 95,000 SF flexible biomanufacturing facility. Located within one of the most innovative super clusters in the country, The Reactory is primed for success.
